Jessica has Pointy Shoulders

Eagle-eyed Ravelry friends may have noticed that I have finished my Jessica jumper.  Technically.  However, there was a problem (see my "unimpressed" face):

 What's with the pointy shoulders?!!

I don't know how I managed it, but in the pattern there's a little gap between the frills and the shoulders, and the neckline is much lower (read: more flattering).  Only one thing for it:  yep, unravel the bastard and start again.  Not the whole thing, just the front panel.  I tried just ripping it back part of the way, but since I'd dropped a couple of stitches right at the front (which you can see a bit in the second picture) I figured why not just start from scratch?  It was months ago when I knit this, so hopefully my skills have improved a bit since then. [sigh] She might be ready in time for winter...

  2. Lady Gaga style knits.

The dusty pink is a really lovely colour choice :) Have you had any luck on finding a long skirt?

And you fellow Lindy Lady!! :D I love it a lot, and am lucky as there is a lesson on every night here.. although that's OTT??

  3. Oh Eleni! It's amazing!!! Awesome in fact. Did you toy with inserting shoulder pads? Such a shame you have to unravel that section, looks like a motherhubbard to knit too. But you'll be a thousand times happier you did though when you get the shoulders just right. If it were me, I'd leave them, I agree with Martha, like Lady Gaga!

  4. I rather like it. I think you just need to change your unimpressed face for a What Do You Think You're Looking At, Dude? face and that'll take so much less time than reknitting. The colour really suits you.

  5. Oh dear, what a pain! But the colour is lovely and I'm sure when you've fixed the shoulders it'll be great! But it is such a nuisance when you think you've finished a project but it doesn't quite work out...

P.S. The Fly shoes are super comfortable... kind of like flats but up high. I'd been wanting some for at least 5 years before the exchange rate changed enough that I could afford them!

  8. I think you had left a comment on another blog I read, and I liked your "tea" picture so I just clicked on it and found your blog!
It was funny, after reading about your struggle with the sweater, I spent the next 2 hours trying to find a quote it reminded me of! I finally got it:
The person who doesn't make mistakes is unlikely to make anything.
I have been doing so many projects, it's one of the ideas that keeps me positive when I mess up!!
