Winter Warmers

As the "Cold Snap" is set to return later this week, I begged my mum to bring one of my many coats out of her loft when I saw her this weekend.  It was an obvious choice which one:

I've had this baby for about eight or nine years now, and every year I think maybe it's time to pass her on, maybe I'm over my Statement Hippie Coat phase (see Robin Wright Penn in 'Forrest Gump', or Angelina Jolie in 'Girl, Interrupted')?  But then every year when the weather turns (her usual seasonal debut is Bonfire Night, and I did feel sad that she wasn't with me this year) I unleash her sheepskinny goodness, and I know I shall never relinquish this coat.  She makes every day a Duvet Day.

And my hat?  'Tis only H&M, dear readers, but she too is an old friend.  We have travelled to New York, Paris, and Tokyo together, and she does a sterling job of warming my bonce* wherever I choose to lay her.  8-Ball brooch from Patricia Field's store in Manhattan.  Oh, yes.

* I saw my Comedy Genius uncle this weekend, and he informed us all that "bonce" is one of his top three favourite words.  I can't say I blame him.

  1. It's a super coat and evinces that its wearer has a (behatted) mind of her own.

  2. Hi Eleni,
thankyou for your lovely comment on my blog.

I think thats a great coat - a treasure to keep.
I hear the weather over there has been very white and cold.
We are in summer over here in Oz, but it has def been unseasonly wet, umbrella weather.
Maybe we'll get a white Christmas after all!

    Cheers
    Fi

  3. Really? Not the San Francisco Fudge Factory there in Bath, by any chance? Lucky you. Fudge and tea is the perfect combination. (Apologies to readers who have no idea what I'm talking about.)
