The Wonderous Windowsill Garden

And so it begins, my aforementioned Wonderous Windowsill Garden: my new bedroom has a grand old windowsill, and I plan to fill it with plants.  I am always inspired by my mum's garden.  She has very little space and it's all concrete (much to her horror), but she has so many plants that it is always pretty, very quirky, and sometimes, like last week, downright beautiful:

This is a conglomeration of Ma's virginia creeper and next door's passion fruit, both of which are making a determined effort to hide my mum's unsightly shed, which she is delighted about.  Incidentally, doesn't that sound like an awesome name for a band: 'Virginia Creeper and the Passion Fruits.'  You heard it here first, folks, don't go plagiarising now.

I am also regularly inspired by the lovely public flower arrangements in Bath:

I can't even remember where I took these photos, but there are so many Wonderous Windowsills out there.

Et viola, I have begun collecting flower pots:

May I introduce you, dear readers, to my new friends Viola, The Two Chris's (crysanthemums of course), and Rose.  Please excuse the unoriginal names; between all my previous goldfish and all my previous attempts at houseplants I have already used up so many good ones (Vivienne, Homer, Spartacus, Lola, Chuck, Fernando, Mr Black...I won't go on), and am somewhat lacking inspiration, but what they lack in titles, they certainly make up for in colour and jauntiness.  I am very proud of my new babies, and hope you will also enjoy watching my garden grow.
